Samarkand International Airport

Home Resort The Samarkand International Airport

Samarkand International Airport is the second busiest in Uzbekistan (after Tashkent). It welcomes over 500,000 passengers a year. The airport is located in the northern part of the city at an altitude of 680 meters above sea level.

In 2022, a new terminal capable of serving 1,200 passengers per hour (compared to 400 passengers before the renewal) was put into operation. The new terminal design resembles an open book. Constellations depicted by designers on its roof represent the contribution made by the outstanding astronomer Mirzo Ulugbek to the development of science and the entire humankind.

The airport terminal complex offers all types of services provided by international standards: VIP and CIP halls, a mother-and-child room, a first-aid post, air ticket offices, a post office, long-distance and international communication services, bars, a restaurant, a currency exchange office, and a duty-free shop. Since the airport is only 8 km away from the center of Samarkand, you can reach any place in the city by taxi or by city buses.
