Recently, the imam al-Bukhari international public foundation launched an international fundraising campaign to finance a construction and reconstruction of a memorial complex dedicated to the life and work of the Islamic scholar.

The large-scale project contemplates a complete reconstruction of a land plot with an area of 48k square meters. It includes a new large mosque with a capacity of 9,000 believers, as well as beautiful landscaped gardens with an area of 4,400 square meters. The mosque is expected to host up to 5 million pilgrims a year.

The complex will include a pilgrimage site with the scholar's mausoleum, spacious prayer halls and hotels built in accordance with halal principles. The construction is expected to be completed in 2023.
